With a background in sports training, strength and conditioning classes combine strength, speed and agility training with aerobic conditioning. Physiotherapists have a unique and in-depth understanding of how the body works and can apply the principles of Strength and Conditioning appropriately, modifying the exercises for your individual needs and requirements. Following analysis and diagnosis of your musculoskeletal issue, brought on by sports or day to day activities, and following treatment during the acute phase, a personally designed rehabilitation program incorporating Strength and Conditioning exercise principles will not only help recovery but also help prevent reinjury.
We are delighted to welcome Matt Whitson who is perfectly placed to deliver these sessions having completed a sports science degree and having worked with QPR football club as their U23 physiotherapist. Every session will be designed to supplement each individuals previous rehabilitation for the purpose of preventing further injury. Matt can provide constant analysis and correction of technique, and progression of exercises as your strength and ability improves. These Strength and Conditioning sessions have already proven very popular with his current clients in clinic and we aim to provide you with the same service from the comfort of your own home in a virtual class setting. The format of each class will be progressive and include a warm up followed by body weight strengthening and a thorough cool down. All exercises provided will be demonstrated with clear instructions on how to progress and regress the exercise depending on your level of fitness or state of injury.
